Of all the Shaolin Temple animal styles, Tiger is the "hardest" or most "external". This means it focuses primarily on strength, power, and the energy of aggression. A tiger is always on the attack, never hesitating or giving ground. As such, the style is marked by ferocious strikes with the tiger claw palm-strike and powerful kicks. The energy of the tiger style is essential to learn to help you contrast between it and the "softer" styles like White Crane or Tai Chi Chuan.

Tiger is one of the first animal styles you will learn in the Shaolin-Do belt-ranking curriculum, but is learned most intensely as a 1st-Degree Brown Belt, and ultimately, 1st-Degree Black Belt. Contact us for private instruction if you want to start learning Tiger style immediately.
